Description

East of India was started in 1991 by John Ayris and Anne Spratling.

All their products are designed with love and care at their studio in Folkstone.  The company has a strong emphasis on high quality, handmade goods.

With strong environmental credentials, East of India is the owner and guardian of ‘Oak Wood’ in Kent, 22 acres designated as ancient woodland and a site of scientific interest.  Their office and warehouse has a solar power installation that helps generate over half the electricity used by the company, saving over 32 tons of CO2 being added to the atmosphere every year.  Since the outset, they have also used recycled paper and cardboard wherever possible.
